Blood pressure measurement

Both too high and too low blood pressure can cause problems in pets. When blood pressure is too low, blood flow to the kidneys, among others, is compromised. Too high blood pressure can cause lesions to the kidneys, among others, and lead to acute blindness, especially in cats.
We use a doppler device, the gold standard for measuring blood pressure. Only during surgery do we use an oscillometric device that automatically determines blood pressure at regular intervals.
